London Falcons GFC 6 Nottingham Ball Bois 0

11 October 2009
GFSN League
Away (Old Deer Park, Richmond-on-Thames)

A performance lacking passion, spirit and direction ended with Nottingham recording their worst defeat ever. Looking as far removed from league champions as possible, Nottingham's losing margin could have been even greater were it not for the efforts of Dave S in goal.

The repeated pattern of the game was Nottingham losing the ball in midfield, the defence having to backtrack and the goalkeeper being forced into a series of one-on-one saves. The heroics in goal meant that Nottingham held on aginst this onslaught for most of the first half, but on thirty-five minutes the inevitable happened as the Falcons scored from a corner. With Nottingham stunned, the lead was doubled within a minute.

Nottingham's heads dropped and it stayed that way throughout the second half when four Falcons goals went in to take the tally to six. The Ballbois simply gave up, offering nothing in the way of a fightback. This is a game that the club will want to forget.
