A pre-season friendly saw a Ballbois team with some new faces take time to settle down, going behind to an eary Birmingham goal. Once settled, however, the home team enjoyed a period of dominance.

A Birmingham own goal led to Nottingham playing their trademark fluent passing style in a passage of play which saw goals go in for Craig S, Rob C and AJ.

However, at 4-1 down, Blaze were not to be beaten and they came back with two quick goals just before half-time, making the score going into the break a much more even 4-3.

The second half saw Blaze equalise after ten minutes, which seemed to spur Nottingham back into action, with James H almost immediately retaking the lead for the home team.

From there Nottingham managed to hang on for the rest of the half to take the victory.
