22 August 2010 Nottingham began their season and their defence of the GFSN Cup with a victory at local rivals Leicester. The visitors got off to a lively start and on ten minutes took the lead when an AJ cross found Damian S, who scored during the ensuing goalmouth scramble. Nottingham remained dominant for most of the first half, with near misses from AJ and James H, but during the final ten minutes of the half lost some of their composure, allowing Leicester more forward time and attacks on the Ballbois goal. Just minutes before the interval whistle, Leicester gained a free kick resulting in a corner which caused confusion between the goalkeeper and defence, the result being an own goal to bring Leicester even at half-time. Nottingham's confidence wasn't dented and, ten minutes into the restart, Oli S sent James H into space on the left, his deft finish putting Nottingham back into the lead. A dubious penalty decision ten minutes later gave Leicester a chance to equalise again. The shot, however, was placed to the left of the Nottingham goal. On forty minutes James H scored his second of the day to bring the score to 3-1. With the game seemingly wrapped up, Nottingham went to sleep on a corner to allow Leicester back into the game with their second. Nerves were calmed in injury time, however, as man-of-the-match Adam R struck assuredly from the edge of the area to restore the two-goal advantage. Team: Tony L, Simon R, Ben R, Craig S, Shaun B, AJ, Oli S, Adam R, James H, Damian S, Chris L
