In this GFSN League opener, Nottingham were unable to match their cup form, losing at Yorkshire to the only goal of the match.

Nottingham played a good first half, and had the majority of the play, but their half dozen shots all found the woodwork. In the 44th minute, Yorkshire got through the Nottingham defence to take a lead into half-time.

The second half was more evenly matched, and Nottingham were unable to do anything to make good the one goal deficit. Yorkshire did not add to their lead, but their one goal proved sufficient at the final whistle.
