10 December 2006 A scrappy, mishmash local derby saw experience triumph on the day, just. Three penalty awards of which one was reversed added controversy to a blood and thunder affair. Wildecats were on fire early doors scoring immediately, but the real confidence sapping moment came with an extremely harsh penalty award. Ballbois hit back with their own disputed penalty minutes later before a classy move saw Leicester go 3-1 up, all this action within twenty one minutes! A prompt substitution worked wonders with Jim H slotting in well at centre back. With both midfields cancelling each other out chances diminished although Chris L and Brett L worked two slick moves, with one going agonisingly just past the post. So far for the seventh time in nine games Ballbois were down at half time. Leicester’s defence were as solid as ever proving a tough nut to crack, but substitute Mike D made an impact with forceful runs through midfield. With tiredness now creeping in, the match was fizzling out before Nottingham were awarded another penalty. After lengthy consolation with a linesman the decision was reversed. In the dying embers Chris L scored a consolation goal. So, another poor start cost dearly but the floodgates didn’t open and these Ballbois, although still naïve, just battle on regardless. This was their most physical game and they stood up to the challenge as well as keeping their heard under these circumstances. Team: Tony L, Gareth D, Tom M, Jay C, John S, Dave O, Phil P, Adam R, Kev F, Brett L, Chris L
