4 February 2007 “We deserve to win this!” … and with these words from the Ballbois coach, the team leapt onto the pitch with full determination to secure a much needed win. A vocal performance at Victoria Embankment helped the teams' confident start and instantly lead to Brett L scoring the first goal of his hat-trick in the first fifteen minutes. The first half continued with both teams displaying their talents including Tony L who made some fantastic saves for the Bois. There were some tense moments caused by injuries and despite a second goal from Brett the team were caught off guard by two well-placed goals from the Romans just before the whistle blew for half time. Returning to the pitch with 2-2 as the score, both teams marched out once again bursting with energy and enthusiasm. With a hunger to reach a victory, John S and Adam R made some shrewd tactical switches for the second half including the re-introduction of Andy B after his recent injury. The fans watched as each player skilfully passed the ball leading neatly into some brilliant scoring. Within the next twenty minutes the Bois had secured four more goals with one from Paul B, two goals of Chris L's hat-trick and a nicely timed header from Brett. The Roman’s fought on even with a weakened side yet never managed to regain their position due to the Bois half-time changes. The match ended just after Kris came back with two more goals and Dave O’s first goal for the team. A much needed win against a weakened yet competitive Romans team. However, even with two hatricks, first goals and a strong defence the Ballbois know that they must keep up this ‘winning streak’ against the Titans and Falcons in the coming weeks! Fantastic performances from all … the Ballbois are BACK!!!
