What seemed like a lost cause for Nottingham at half-time turned into a thrilling encounter ending honours-even.

The Ballbois seemed out-of-sorts in the first half, letting in two Birmingham strikes with little offered in return in the way of challenges or passing manoeuvres. The scoreline could have been worse were it not for some goaline clearances by man-of-the match Jordan K.

The second half started in a similar fashion, but then the Ballbois found some of their passion and started to get the better of the opposition. The pressure paid off when, from a free-kick on the right-hand side of the pitch, Damian S sailed in a ball that went above all the defenders' heads and into the back of the net.

By now, the effort on the pitch was being matched by the noise off the pitch as the Ballbois supporters willed the home team on to an equaliser. It was to come in controversial style as the referee awarded a penalty for hand-ball, converted calmly by Jordan K.

There were a few final scares in front of the Nottingham goal, but the Ballbois held on for the draw.
