Away (Bournemouth)

With no league issues to resolve, this game was effectively a dead rubber with only pride to play for against last year's champions.

In the first half, Nottingham held their own against the hosts. Whilst Bournemouth had the better of the 45 minutes, Nottingham had a fifteen-minute period of domination during which their best chance of the game fell to Jeff N. With a half-time goalless score looking likely, Bournemouth beat the Ballbois' offside trap with a long ball that led to their first goal on 44 minutes.

Despite this setback, Nottingham had a good start to the second half. A sloppy second goal, however, saw heads go down, and before the end of the game Bournemouth were to add two more to their tally.
Players were understandably disappointed with the end to the season being a 4-0 defeat.

There was to be some consolation in the pub later on, however, as news of other results filtered through. In particular, a defeat for Birmingham meant that Nottingham had, by a wafer-thin margin on goals scored, taken a top-half finish the GFSN League. Heading back home on the long journey north, the Ballbois took with them pride in a creditable finish to their debut league season.
