Away (Temple Newsan Park, Leeds)

After two hours of pulsating football, a goal in extra time saw Terriers progress, whilst the Ballbois were left kicking themselves and wondering just how they'd succumbed to their first defeat of the season.

Although the first half was fairly even with few chances, the homesters took theirs and led 2-0 by the break. A twenty five yard screamer right on 45 appeared to have settled matters there and then. However,a different system, style of play and two substitutions did the trick for Nottingham who powered back into contention immediately when Craig S scored a beauty from a free kick.

With the tempo raised significantly, Ian R, twice, Chris and James all had decent efforts before 72 minutes when Craig's angled bullet of a free kick missed everybody and ended up inside the net for a richly deserved equaliser.

This really was a cup tie now and the Terriers almost led again on 80 but Tony L produced a great save in goal. Then Ian's overhead kick struck woodwork as both sides were looking for a winner in normal time.

Surprisingly, extra time was fairly uneventful but on 104 a neat through ball enabled the Terriers striker to nonchalantly score what proved to be the winner. Even then the Bois didn't give up, and in the last minute Chris had two fine efforts saved, the second was just instinct and a truely superb stop. It was a bitter pill to swallow but no more could have been asked of a team missing three first team regulars.
