Yorkshire 5-a-side Tournament, Leeds Nottingham travelled to Leeds as defending champions, and almost made it two years in a row as they reached the final of the Yorkshire tournament, only to lose on penalties to the hosts. As seems to be the unwritten rule for such tournaments, the two Nottingham teams were again drawn in the same qualifying group, and were to play each other in their opening game. Ball Bois 1 won this game, but from here onwards Ball Bois 2 were looking more likely to qualify, with victories against London Titans, GFC Bournemouth and a draw against the Hostscots. Ball Bois 1 suffered defeats in their matches against the Titans and the Hotscots, and managed an unconvincing victory against the Justin Fashanu All-stars. Seemingly out of the competition, Ball Bois 1 relaxed , managing victories against the eventual group winners Newcastle and against GFC Bournemouth. Ball Bois 2 slipped up against the Justin Fashanu All-stars, but enjoyed a convincing 4-0 win against the group winners, Newcastle. Given the fluctuating fortunes of both teams, it's not surprising that there was some confusion when it was announced that Nottingham had qualified as group runners-up - which Nottingham exactly? It was in fact Ball Bois 1 who finished second, with Ball Bois 2 narrowly missing out on qualification, finishing third. The semi-final against much-fancied Mersey Marauders saw a steady 1-0 win for Nottingham. A second final in two years was again a deadlocked game. Spot-kicks saw home side Yorkshire triumph and take the Bridge Trophy out of Nottingham's hands.
