Nottingham Ball Bois are GFSN Cup Champions following an astonishing 8-0 win against GFC Bournemouth and Hampshire at the ground of Blue Square South league team, Hampton and Richmond Borough FC. The Nottingham team, described by onlookers as the 'best ever' line-up to play in a GFSN match, dominated the game with a near-flawless performance. Presented with a first-minute free-kick, man-of-the-match James H placed a high-looping shot into the opposition net. This early lead seemed to stun Bournemouth, and within ten minutes, Oli S and James H again had scored to create an incredible 3-0 lead. Bournemouth provided strong opposition, but Nottingham were quite simply on their game - a team oozing with quality and playing as a unit to their potential. Bournemouth had no way into the game and were being dominated in every area of the pitch. Two more goals were added in the first half, with stand in manager AJ making the scoresheet and Oli S getting his second to take the half-time score to an unassailable 5-0. Bournemouth were stronger in the second half, but Nottingham did not let complacency set in and held their ground firmly. The Ballbois added three more goals in the second half. Chris L and Craig S both finished well to take the game to 7-0, and with a penatly awarded, Gareth D was bought on to put the ball away forcefully for his debut Ballbois goal. The final goal was the 200th Ballbois goal in all competitions, a fitting record with which to wrap-up the cup victory. Overall, Nottingham won with a superb and strong team performance which never let the opposition in with a chance. Nottingham will not retain their GFSN League title this season, but were more than happy to leave Hampton having swapped the league trophy for the GFSN Cup.
