An FA-backed panel event to discuss homophobia in football and LGBT sports participants is the centrepiece of Nottingham Ball Bois FC's events for LGBT History Month 2012.

LGBT History Month is an annual event held during February to celebrate and raise awareness of Lesbian, Gay Bisexual and Transgender history in the UK. To coincide with Olympic year, the theme of the 2012 event nationally is sport.

The panel event takes place on February 21st at 6.30 pm in Nottingham, and is being organised in conjunction with campaigning group Kick-it-Out and LGBT Sports Development body Pride Sports.

Details of the panel event, and our other events during the month of February, are available on our LGBT History Month events page.

Other Nottingham events during the month include 5-a-side sessions, 11-a-side kick-abouts and a match against Wolverhampton Harts FC. Nottingham Ball Bois will be speaking at the Nottingham City Homes LGBT History Month event on February 24th, and will be commemorating Football v Homophobia Day on February 19th.

In recognition of previous work for LGBT History Month, Nottingham Ball Bois were invited to speak at the national launch of LGBT History Month 2012, held in November at the Oval cricket ground in London.
