Friendly Game (Away)

A Ballbois squad missing many of its regular starting eleven arrived at a sunny Moor Lane for what would become a closely fought pre-season friendly. In the starting line up were two debutants, Barry S and Paul B, bringing the total number of pre-season newcomers to seven.

The Ballbois were caught out at the start, with an early Birmingham goal going in almost from the whistle. Nottingham equalised within minutes, however, Brett L opening his account for the season.

Nottingham then went ahead in spectacular fashion. After rattling around in front of the Birmingham goal, the ball found its way to Jordan K who delivered an overhead kick which went straight into the Birmingham net.

Nottingham pressed forward for a corner-kick just before half-time in the hope of gaining a 3-1 advantage, but this left the Ballbois vulnerable to a resulting counter-attack, and Birmingham's forwards managed to net an equaliser.

No further goals were scored after half-time, but what the second half lacked in goals it made up for in determination from both sides. The game was played with great spirit and respect between the two squads, the draw being a fair reflection of the efforts of both teams.
