![]() Nottingham Ball Bois had a dream debut at home to the London Titans. Their first competitive 11-a-side fixture, in the preliminary round of the GFSN cup, ended with a comfortable 4-1 victory for the home team. Playing their strongest starting eleven to date, the Ballbois settled comfortably from the kick-off. Solid defensive and midfield performances meant that the Nottingham goalmouth was rarely troubled, whilst at the other end of the field Nottingham were getting a few chances on goal. Eventually, the first-half dominance paid off as a corner from Damien S was headed into the net by Brett L, getting his second goal of the season. The Nottingham lead was doubled going into half time as Jordan K made a run down the length of the wing, leaving several Titans players in his wake, and ending with a confident strike into the opposition goal. The Ballbois started the second-half equally confidently. Just in case anyone has missed Jordan K's first half heroics, he obliged by scoring an almost identical goal with yet another blistering run down the wing. The opposition weren't completely out of the game, and had a spell in the second half where they were running through the centre of the pitch to threaten the Nottingham goal, and eventually a goal was pulled back from a Titans free-kick.
The final score of 4-1 means that Nottingham Ball Bois go into the hat for the quarter-finals of the GFSN Cup, the draw to be made on September 2nd at the Leicester 6-a-side Tournament. |
