Leicester 6-a-side tournament
Sunday September 2nd
St. Margaret's Pastures

Nottingham Ball Bois continued their impressive small-side tournament form by reaching the semi-finals of the Leicester Tournament, and claiming the golden boot trophy along the way.

Two Ballbois teams entered the competition. Nottingham Arrows were unlucky to not progress beyond the group stages, being unbeaten and not conceding a single goal in any of their games. Unfortunately, 5 draws and 2 wins gave enough points only for third place in the group.

There was further misery as AJ was taken away from the pitch in an ambulance with an ankle injury, later diagnosed as a sprain - best wishes for a speedy recovery from all at the Ballbois.

Nottingham Bows had better luck, despite one defeat, their four wins and two draws propelled them to the top of their group table.

The Bows semi-final against Yorkshire was looking likely to end in a 0-0 draw and penalties. However, Nottingham's tournament came to an end in the final thirty seconds as the eventual tournament winners snatched a late goal.

The six goals scored for the Bows by James H (left), making only his second appearance in Ballbois black, were unsurpassed by any other player at the tournament. He was presented with the golden boot award for top goalscorer later in the evening.
